Artist Application

Artist Application for Monarch Festival at MountFest – September 23rd, Noon – 8:00 PM
Deadline: September 20th, 2023

We’re excited to announce that the Monarch Festival at MountFest, sponsored by the Arts Alliance of Southern Indiana and Mount Saint Francis’ Franciscan Earth Care and Franciscan Arts Initiatives, will again combine into a grand outdoor celebration in 2023!

The all-day Monarch Festival at MountFest event will feature an inclusive Regional Arts Festival, live entertainment and musicians, food trucks, local beer and wine, Kids Zone activities, and a fantastic butterfly experience! This event is free and open to the public. Monarch Festival at MountFest draws, on average, over 7,000 attendees and promises to be an even larger event this year – more artists, more food, more music, and more fun!

Come. Create. Celebrate. Mount Saint Francis has been an integral part of Kentuckiana for more than 100 years. Since the 1920s, the friars have held an annual summer picnic attended by thousands each year. In 2015, MountFest was established by the Mount Saint Francis Center for Spirituality to provide a premier event to celebrate the area’s arts, music, and food. The friars of our province have a long history of celebrating and honoring the arts. With the launching of the Franciscan Arts Initiative, we want to ensure that beauty and spirit brought to life through art continue to be honored and celebrated.

The Arts Alliance of Southern Indiana promotes the arts in Clark, Floyd, and Harrison counties through partnerships with individuals, groups, and businesses. They leverage their events, programming, and space as platforms for community arts and culture engagement. The Arts Alliance of Southern Indiana has hosted the Monarch Festival in different locations throughout Southern Indiana each year since 2010.

All proceeds from Monarch Festival at MountFest will support programs and activities by the Franciscan Arts Intitiative, Franciscan Earth CAre Intitiative,  and the Arts Alliance of Southern Indiana.
